I generally have a lot of self discipline and will power, but last Wednesday I had a bad morning, hadn't been fishing since the last Mid-West Rally, and got a invitation from my friend Charlie to fish his private retreat,...so I snuck off.

It is the old Stonewall City Lake. The water is almost clear and between 50 and 75 acres in size. If you remember it was absolutely beautiful that afternoon. We fished from 3:00 PM until dark and were in fish (3 to 4 lbs) all of that time. All of our fish came out of shallow water on Carolina rigged lizards or baby brushhogs. The black with lime tail seemed to work best.

I feel human again.
