    Cayuga Lake

Anyone fishing Cayuga lately? Never been there and heading up this weekend. I'm used to fishing for smallies in the Susquehanna with tubes and heard Cayuga can be the same. Also fish for largemouth on the Potomac so flipping grass is a normal thing. Any go to baits this time of the year?

Rumor has it that power-shotting in soem of the deeper weeds can be productive

Not sure about Cayuga, but a good summer finger lakes pattern is to dropshot in 15-30 feet for smallies (gulp, 3" senkos, etc.) and fish the outside weed edges for largemouth. Morning or late afternoon/evening is better.

Haven't been there yet this year, but I focus on the weed lines and bays on the northern end. Allway holding Largemouth, but you need to keep moving until you find them and a pattern that will work. Carolina rig has worked best for me there in the past. Good luck!

There is a big tourney up there this Saturday (FLW BFL). Supposed to be up to 400 boats. Are you in this tourney?

    Re: Cayuga Lake (JP198)

    Was only 85 boats.
1st place was Bob Salotti with 19-10

    I took 12th with 14-7

BIG JIG on grass lines in 14-20 feet of water on the northern end.

    very few smallies weighed in.
