Lake Champlain help!?

Hey guys I am diving in this year and trying the northern opens....I have never been to Champlain and have a few general ?'s. I plan on staying in Plattsburgh a few nights...any cheap motels you recommend? Also I will be heading south for practice a few times...any ideas down there? I also would like to know if coming from Green Bay, WI has anyone had experience crossing the borders to get there? I can either stay south of Lake Erie or head north into Canada...the maps show it is faster but how much of an issue is it at the border?

Lots of lodging in PLattsburgh, do a search. Super 8, Econolodge, many others.

Ti has less options and the Best Western and Super 8 are pricey, try Circle Court, Green Acres, Stone House Inn.

plattsburgh I like microtel and econlodge... very boat friendly... if you want to stay in prectice in Ti then I like the circle court.
Can't say anything about crossing the border... if it was me I'd have an enhanced license and my birth certificate... passport too if you got one...

yes it can be... you will be out of plattsburgh... so when you hear or think about the southern end of the lake, its an hour away when its flat... not much of a breeze can really ruin a day...
one time when I was up there in the fall, same day as FLW event in plattsburgh... was fishing by south bay ramp, Biffle went by me and kept going... and the wind was blowing... crazy...
