wow. read the story. I feel your pain.

I know you've heard ita all already, but as much as you like or dislike a given brand of motor, check out the mfg websites and (at least partially) base your decision on the number of dealers they have within a reasonable distance. you may or may not like merc, but they are the largest, which does have its benefits in situations like this. when I have a problem in the peak season I can find a dealer to squeeze me in when others are telling me to drop it off to secure my place in line and they'll get to it in a few weeks...haven't missed a weekend on the water yet. and in-stock parts availability is better too

good luck on the boat search. good time to buy at least...

nice. what's to hate? to each his own. besides I'd be quite the hypocrite. my version of the multispecies is the multipurpose (F&S). I love the functionality though.

how as the tourney? looked like good weather.

    Snowball results...
Another Snowball is in the books! Fishing was tough looking at the results but 10 teams still brought in limits... the other teams will not be mentioned...
First off gotta thank the Banshee and Sam for doing the money and sign up... that took a load off my mind... Gerry and bruce for doing the weigh in awesome as usual... who said Digital scales... bite me...
Got to see everybody again... long time for most... I'd say march at crystal bar...
Weather was the coldest ever at the start... around 22 or less I'd say... ramp froze up... pretty neat... topped off around 45 sunny little wind... water was pretty dirty with a good current chuggin'...
21 boats showed up... 6 less than last year but I think the cold kept the wimps home... had 2 kids in the field one from NJ!... had a few new teams too... welcome aboard! here is the run down:
tied for 10th gary and Greg / Raimo and shipe... 19-13#s 8 bass of course...
    9th place-Murphy and Albano 21-13
8th place-Hadley and Hadley from NJ, 22-1 new to snowball hope to see you next year!
    7th place-Team blizzard, Myself and DPW... 22-5
6th place- Fredricks and Borrelli, 23-0
5th place- Brian and Dan, 23-7 $50.00 First timers...
    4th place- Morrison and Snyder 23-11 $85.00
3rd place- Team Cobra, The Cobra boys, 24-2, $190.00 nice job in their 3rd snowball...
    2nd place- Bishop and rosetti, 25-1, $400.00
1st place- joe Johnson and Denny (al?) 25-4 throw in a tournament lunker and they got a nice payday... $800+155! pretty nice job for some river rats!
Should I go through the rest? better not... The bite was real tough if my opinion, looking at the results some big names didn't do well. had some beer afterwards Some good friends and and bass tournament, nothing better than that!
My Camera crapped out so Scott will post some pics... Larry took a bunch too...
Goto http://www.basstrails.com in the next few weeks to see more on this event and pics...
Again, thanks to everyone! great to see everybody... see you same time next year!
