I would think at that price for the thrust washer there will be a big aftermarket demand for someone to make them. Unless there is some type of special patent or something preventing it.

Yamaha prices have gone bonkers. And tariffs have not yet kicked in.

When I talked to Rothwell Marine, they said the performance is the same as the T2. They said the new T3 is built more like the T1.

I will hopefully be getting one pretty soon and I will find out. I threw a blade which caused a bent prop shaft and also damaged something else causing bad noises when raising and lowering the motor now. This is the second time throwing a blade with the T2.

Do you use a hydraulic jack plate? I was just curious because it seems to me that most of the time I hear of these props losing blades it is when utilizing a hydraulic jack plate.

I do have the TH Marine hydraulic jack plate and I had just raised it from 6-8 around the time it flew. However, I threw the last one on my last boat with a manual jack plate. Both times I've been going around 50 MPH on pretty smooth water. Last time there wasn't any other damage to the engine. This time there is a definite wobble and not round spin before and after putting on my spare prop. I have no idea what the horrible noise is when tilting the motor up and down though.

I doubt that it works much better than a good Tempest. Definitely not worth the cost.

I believe that would depend on the boat. I have run several different props on mine and the Yamaha props T-1 especially are faster and have better mid range efficiency. I have a Raker style 4- blade that is the most efficient at slower engine rpm but about 5,000 rpm it’s several mph slower. The Tempest was a fairly good prop but was a dog at economy.
