Just got back from a long labor day weekend at loz. Crowds and big-boat traffic made fishing almost impossible except for a few hours in the morning. The fishing seems to be very good there. Caught an awful lot of small bass on shallow crankbaits run along the dock sides and ends. I also caught a fair amount of keepers on worms fished on steep banks or points with brush. I fished from about the 8 mile to the dam. I actually think the fishing might be better mid-lake, but I didn't want to fight the big boats. Most of the fish were main lake. I really couldn't get anything going in any of the quieter coves. I think the fishing will be real good this week without the crowds. Still a pretty typical summer pattern. Buy the way, I did find some of the back ends of the coves just stacked with shad but the bass didn't seem to be on them yet. I had a very poor topwater bite.
