    Best ad blocker for Chromebook?

I was using Ublock and it not supported any longer.... I watch a lot of YouTube and the ads have gotten way too long and too many.

    Something safe/secure?

I use adblocker for my chrome account in general. Install it as an extension. Works pretty well. Lots of sites have figured out how to get around most of these now and keep pushing longer and longer ads on you hoping you pay for their ad free service.

    From Bing -

    1. Surfshark CleanWeb: Known for its effectiveness, it blocks ads and trackers while also offering privacy features like a VPN.
    2. Total Adblock: A versatile option that works well for YouTube and other sites. It has a free version, but the premium plan offers enhanced features.
    3. uBlock Origin Lite: A lightweight version of the popular uBlock Origin, designed to comply with Chrome's new extension standards3.
    4. Brave Browser: If you're open to switching browsers, Brave has a built-in ad blocker that works seamlessly with YouTube.

Keep in mind that YouTube is actively working to block ad blockers, so these tools may require updates or adjustments over time. Alternatively, YouTube Premium is an ad-free option with added perks like offline downloads and background play. Let me know if you'd like more details!

You must be special.... I've had ads since I bought it, Then added UBlock and it was good. Now it's not. I need another ad blocker... Do you think I'm stupid or lying?

    Times, they are a changing...

Key points about Manifest V3 and ad blocking:

    • Reduced blocking power:
Manifest V3 restricts the number of rules ad blockers can use, potentially limiting their ability to identify and block a wide range of ads.
    • New API limitations:
The update forces ad blocker developers to use a different API (declarativeNetRequest) which has limitations compared to the previous webRequest API.
    • Impact on popular extensions:
Some well-known ad blockers like uBlock Origin may see reduced functionality due to Manifest V3.
    • What can users do?

    • Switch to a Manifest V3-compatible ad blocker:
Look for ad blockers that have specifically adapted to the new Manifest V3 standards, such as "uBlock Origin Lite".
    • Check for updates:
Ensure your current ad blocker is updated to the latest version as developers may have implemented workarounds for Manifest V3.
    • Consider alternative browsers:
Some browsers may have different policies regarding ad blocking extensions and Manifest V3 implementation.
