    Hummingbirds went ballistic today

I’ve had my share so far but today got swarmed. Filled all five feeders three times today

We lost ours. Had 12 at a time at the feeder.
But then I bought some plastic snakes to scare away the barn swallows trying to build a nest.
I laid them on the coffee table on the porch as there wasn't a good place to set them on the upper beams while I thought of a permanent spot.
    Barn swallows stopped coming. Good.
Hummingbirds left 4 days later and haven't been back in 7 days since we removed the snakes! Bad.
Snakes were not close to the feeder but the birds always spent time on our porch bouncing off our windows, or staring at their reflection or maybe peeking at us-I don't know.
Never worrried about not having Hummingbirds-but now my wife and I are puzzled how to get them back.

We picked up a lot more this week in Georgia. Going to have to put out my extra feeders this weekend.

Seen only see 2 or 3 so far this year, I'm usually filling 2 feeders 2 times a day.

My activity spiked a bit yesterday to. Instead of seeing 1-2 birds around much of the day, I had 3-4 around almost all day.

My little peckerheads have come back. They are draining two feeders a day. They are a bit more shy than last year but I can watch them from 20 feet. Zoom, zoom, zoom!

Remember, 4:1 sugar to water, first the sugar, then warm water, then the rest of the water.

    Time flies like an arrow,

    Fruit flies like a banana.
