    Safety Chain

I finally got my H18 and can't figure out where or how to put a safety chain or strap on it. What have you guys done for this?
    Thanks

I got a short piece of chain off Amazon (name brand I think so not too cheap) and used one of the winch bolts to hold it. There was enough clearance on the top of the bolt under the strap so it's concealed. Works great and looks clean. I still don't understand why these boats are sold without a safety chain, fire extinguisher, and horn. I also added a horn and horn button. The way I did everything makes it look factory.

I have a 2025 H20C that I bought a few months ago. It came with the coiled safety cables. Maybe mine was added on by the dealer.

I believe he's talking about a safety chain by the winch

I am talking about a safety chain by the winch. Mine also came with the coiled cables for towing. Sorry, I should have been more clear on that. Thanks for the responses.

Yeah, safety chains/cables for towing are probably a requirement by law or should be. I won't tow anything without them.

all I did was by a foot of hesvy duty chain, big carabiner and heavy duty lap link. connect lap link to chain , take out the bolt that holds the winch sleeve in and put back on amd have it go lap link but also put a big washer too. I shortened my chain down to about 8 inches. this exact way that was done on the ranger I had and even on my g3. I too was surprised xpress didn't put a safety chain on it

And then the transom straps that come with the boat aren't really worth much. Last week a friend of mine forgot to hook the nose strap on his glass rig for the 45 minute drive down the interstate. Good thing the old boat buckles were holding back there. Was quite the OH SHIT moment when we pulled up to his house. Neither one of us were feeling good that day but went fishing anyway. He was still hurting from a gut issue and I took a pretty hard hit on my brain stem at work the day before
