Minn Kota ultrex MDI transducer to garmin

Any idea if there is an Adapter cable or cables to make a garmin 106sv pull just a 2d sonar signal from a ultrex with a built in MDI transducer. I have a mdi helix attached to the ultrex and I am tired of the birds. 2d on the garmin is so much better

Don't think so. MDI 2d is Dual Spectrum chirp. I think only the US2 is compatible.

Yes, the adapters are listed on the Minnkota website with the trolling motor accessories.

Your unit uses a 12 pin connector. In Wayne's link there is a 4 pin and a 8 pin. Since the adapter only gives you 2d, maybe the 8 pin fits and the other missing 4 pins are for the Di.??

No only 2D is available for non-Humminbird models. The Garmin transducer port itself determines which plug type to use.

Ya but his Garmin is 12 pin. There is no 12 pin on the MK site you linked.

Does Garmin have adapters for their transducers to change from one configuration to another?

Ya that adapter should work. Looks like it will take 2 adapter cables to make it happen. I will need to buy them both and report back. Hopefully I can make it work. Everyone has always told me the mdi transducer wouldn’t work. Be great if I can get garmin to pull a 2D signal from it.

Wayne may have to tell you what transducer to select on the Garmin to get proper 2d.

The 2D piezo is High Wide CHIRP 140-240 kHz. Do not know what Garmin settings are.

Garmin has not conducted any testing with that specific MDI transducer, so it's not officially supported.

All the adapter cables are on order to try and make this happen. Also ordering new Garmin 126 ultra 2 from bass pro tomorrow. And selling the current Helix. All in on Garmin. Will report back if this works.
