However, you could only get back on Lake Berryessa. If you missed getting your boat banded (a process where a serialized zip tie is put between your bow eye and trailer) when you got off the water then you would have to be decontaminated again before launching. The bands are unique to each lake and there is no reciprocity between bodies of water. The decontamination process varies in price by location as well as the type of boat and how intensive the process has to be for your boat type ie. number of bait wells, livewells, bilge, ballast tanks, etc. Plan on it being at least $100 for a bass boat though. The other issue is getting an appointment to be decontaminated. Not sure if they've gotten caught up now but initially they only offered so many appointments per day and it was booked out something like 2 months! There's a reason that my boat only goes to Clear Lake!!!! Hopefully that doesn't get screwed up! I used to complain about my $20 a month mussel sticker fee but at this point I'm happy to pay it to still be able to fish what I consider my "home" lake!
Sounds like a headache. At least its possible

Sorry, I didn't address the 30 day quarantine part. If you don't want to pay for the decontamination you can trailer your boat to one of the marinas at the lake you'd like to fish. They will do a visual inspection of your boat and then place a red band on the bow to trailer junction. Then you take it home and park it for 30 days. Once your quarantine time is up then you can go back to the lake. They'll look up your serial number, ensure it's been 30 days, and then you can launch. At that point when you come off the lake, as long as they inspection folks are still there when you leave, they'll reband your boat and you can come back and launch without having to be decontaminated. Basically folks out here are having to pick a single body of water to fish these days, or have a bunch of money to spend on the decontaminations at each different lake you want to go to. We do have some lakes that have shut down completely as well. Lakes like Pardee, Comanche, and a few others have gone to a ZERO personally owned boat policy. Some have rentals that you can use but that's all. Lake Tulloch currently only allows boats on the lake that are owned by homeowners with waterfront property.

If it continues next year. Boat sales will be good. Will need a boat for every lake. I miss going to Berryessa. It’s only 52 miles away

Sounds like they are trying to recoup some money for everything they let burn down.

Are you claiming they are not tagging boats and not requiring inspections for non-tagged boats?

I’m an hr away and it is difficult to get on the water at Naci, San Antonio, Lopez and Santa Margarita. One drop of water on or in a non- tagged boat means no entry for at least a day. Cachuma and Casitas are a one month quarantine after inspection and tagging.

Free decontamination stations in Utah. I can fish Powell or Mohave. Then then hit up the local lake and get free decontamination and hit the lake. Simple

Using reentry bands between different lakes is a difficult proposition to get approved. Took some time to get a few of the lakes in SoCal to play well together when Quaggas arrived. DVL,Silverwood,Perris and Big Bear share bands but there’s always the occasional wad at the ramp that doesn’t know the agreement and want to inspect anyways. Launching at a lake with Quaggas is a chit show in itself. You get an exit inspection so you better have a sponge and towel with you. Here’s a little life hack for that. Bring your battery leaf blower with you to dry the boat. The inspectors wet them selves when you do that and it’s super quick. Once you’ve launched in a Quagga lake, you ain’t launching for a full 7 days so you’re losing a weekend of fishing. Your CF #s go in the state system as soon as you launch and the Quagga Gustapo have that on their screen at the gate or on the little tablets they carry around. Try to launch before hand and you’ll get turned around. Launch before 7 days at a lake that’s on paper (and you lie on the form)and not digital and you’re getting a nasty letter from the state and may need to get your check book out. Mussels suck.
If I looked good in spandex and my boats paint had glitter, I’d fish for bass.
Luckily the Crappie, Stripers and Tuna don’t seem to care.............. BigBry

I fish the Mother Lode lakes, Don Pedro and McClure are open, no inspections. New Melones is under 30 day quarentine with red tag and then green tag to return, but then you can't go anywhere else. Tulloch has been completely shutdown. So either you get New Melones only or Pedro/McClure.
