Helix 7 G2N Basemaps

OK after having my helix 7 for seven years, I finally updated the software to 2.320.. updated no problem. The problem I have now is that my basemaps are gone went to system status and there was no version for base maps on it. It's blank.. Try to update that. Downloaded the file opened it up and save the two files in that into an SD card.. inserted the SD card into the Helix powered on and nothing. I get a pop-up saying, SD card encrypted successfully whatever that's supposed to mean I searched high and low on their site for a fix for this, but nothing. So guys what am I missing something here, appreciate the input Thanks

The unit automatically writes the Encrypt folder to an unlocked memory card. It has nothing to do with the unit software or basemap install. Just remove the card and re-insert it so it reads the basemap file.

I have installed this card multiple times with same results. Should I remove the card while the unit is on and then re-inserted it? Because they always say make sure the unit is shut off insert the card and then turn it on. I was thinking of doing a factory default again and then insert the card.

Insert the memory card AFTER the unit is fully operating. You do that if installing the card before starting it up doesn't work.

Nothing seems to work. I do see my lake on it next to my house. But the base maps version is blank. Going to system status go down to SD card encrypt press the right cursor end it says SD card encrypted successfully. Take out the card, re-insert the card. Nothing happens. What would happen if I reinstall the update? If I can even do that..

You can try as many times as needed.
Are you allowing enough time for the unit to read all that data before starting the install, before you give up? It is not instant. The file is about 1 1/2 GB.
Post a picture of what files are on the memory card for critique.

Those are the correct files. You need those two files on the card, not the ZIP folder.

That's what's in the sd card those 2 files only.. I did what you said inserted the card after turning on the unit. Inserted the card and waited 30 minutes for some kind of pop up NOTHING!!!! IT shows my lake on the screen but the version on the system status is blank and software version is correct. Unit runs fine Its just weird. This is on my SI unit I'll try my other unit DI later. Well DI unit is exactly the same reacts the same no pop up to install base maps. I do appreciate your input Wayne P

Well I fixed the issue. When I loaded the file on the SD card it was on my Mac. Read a little info that Windows is better for some reason to load this file. So I dug out my old laptop being already Fat32 I reformatted anyways downloaded the file installed it into the units, voilà !! Installed perfectly. I read Mac seems to be an issue with these files. But the software update installed fine from the Mac. Thanks for all inputs
