    Fuel pump

    Hello everyone,

I noticed on my fuel pump it started leaking fuel from the front side of the pump. The fuel pump is a combination fuel / oil injector. The oil injector side of the pump has gone bad, so I’m currently adding the oil to the fuel tank. I’ve read I can buy a rebuild kit to hopefully stop the leak, but I’m not sure which one is the best. The information on my outboard is as follows:

    1999 Johnson 90hp outboard.

    serial number - G 04699373

    model number - J90PLEEB

    Can anyone help please?

    Thank you,

    Daniel Rodenbrock

Be sure to review this artical first. http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/VRO.html
Others may provide info to replace the VRO with a more common fuel pump. The right ones work just fine, I don’t know the part numbers

These are the VRO repair kits
    435921 Airmotor repair kit 1
    436095 Fuel piston kit 1
    174127 Motor housing kit
    Or

5007422 Pre mix kit for OMS 3 cylinder and larger

www.maxrules.com makes a premix set up for your engine and also sells the VRO rebuild kit with OEM parts for ~$160.
