    FX20 Bottom

I went and looked at a 2016 FX20 last night. I pretty much fell in love with the boat. I think the gentlemen that is selling the boat is a really good guy. When I got there he had a creeper available for me to check out the bottom of the boat, which I did. For whatever reason, something was bothering me about the bottom of the boat, so today I asked him to take some pictures of it and send them to me. When I got the pictures, I was in awe. I didn't recall seeing the deep gouges and bare fiberglass, maybe because subconsiously I didn't want to see them. Question, how serious do you all think the bare glass is and how much will it cost to repair. It's the bottom and nobody will see it, but the bare matting concerns me and know it is there will drive me nuts. I will have to fix it.

My boat bottom has scratches from the carpeted bunks, but wow that is pretty bad imo. Not sure on cost to fix it but it for sure want be cheap if done right. Personally, I’d be looking for another boat.

That is normal wear and tear for anyone that fishes and uses their boat. Scratches are nothing. Just slap some black marine epoxy on the bare spots.

Looks worst than it actually is...definitely easy to repair. I had similar looking spots on a boat...I sanded those deeper looker spots and used a fiberglass resin repair kit

Minor damage, nothing that Marine Tex can't repair.

I’m glad y’all are saying this is just minor damage, makes me feel a whole lot better about my few bunk carpet scratches

Yes. I must be too picky because it’s not minor to me. It would have to be a hell if a deal for me to pick that one over other options.

I guess I'm way to particular about mine....I'd walk away from that immediately. The bottom of mine has a few spots but nothing like that. That boat needed a keel guard for the way the owner used it.

I live in Maine (rocks, rocks and more rock) That is normal wear and tear from beaching for weigh ins up here. Get some black epoxy, no big deal.

Note to self, don’t buy a used boat from the north
