    Pope Leo

Curious to hear our Roman Catholic brothers' thoughts on the new Pope now that some time has passed to digest the news. I am not Roman Catholic but I do believe he has a large effect on the Church as a whole. My prayer is he holds to the catholic beliefs.

Just like Francis, I like pope Leo as a person, since he seems to be very approachable and charismatic toward everyone, though I am sure time will tell how he will guide the church under his leadership. I have prayed for him that the Holy Spirit may direct him in what God has planed for him, and that he may let the Spirit lead him without allowing the world to confound him.

I am Catholic and this is the third time i remember a new Pope. This has never happened before, but when white smoke started coming out of the chimney I wept with joy. My wife was out of town with our kids in a band trip. I was home alone working a honey-do list. Something just came over me that I can’t explain. Then when he came out and the world found out who he was, I felt the same way again.

The coming years will tell us what kind of pope he will be, but I’m excited and hopeful. Our Hope is always in the Lord, but God may use Leo’s particular charisms to bring His grace to many.
