24 Puma STS Premium A10 Touch Pad Issue

During my morning run my A10 touch pad shut off. It came back on for a short time and then shut off again. I thought it might be a loose connection so made sure all was tight on the battery and all good under the console and still nothing. Then about 2 hours later power came back to it. At first I was able to turn the red light on for the recirc but the pump wouldn't work and the light was faint. Then it started to work and I was able to turn on recirc and aerator. Then when I hit pump in everything shut off again. It came back one more time and I ran the recirc on manual. When it shut off on its own less then 10 minutes later the pad was dead for the rest of the day - no pumps, no bilge, no horn, nothing.

The master power switch remained illuminated the entire day so I think the power to the switch is good. So my guess is the issue is between the master power switch and the A10 or in the A10 itself.

After I got her home and plugged the battery charger in, I attempted to trouble shoot and the pad is working. So it didn't work all day on the water but works in the garage.

I'm looking for some guidance on where to start the trouble shooting with the pad now working. The pad did something similar in Florida not long ago where it was dead for about 10 minutes. Worked fine the rest of the time.

It is under warranty but I am hours from the nearest dealer so will be troubleshooting myself. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

Only thing I can think of is take out a volt meter without the charger plugged in and check voltage every where.
I had to get my "brain" replaced recently but I'm unsure if it's for just the MFD displays or A10 as well. Apparently they had some issues and replaced the brain mid model year 2024.

Today I checked all connections, even the ones on the back of the master power switch and the bus bar on the transom. Nothing seemed loose or concerning. No corrosion either. Perhaps I just have a bad A10. I'll call BCB tomorrow and see what they say.

I called BCB today and they are sending me another A10 pad. Also, they recommend if it happens again that I move my main engine leads to the posts on my AGM and leave all other wires on the terminal block. He said doing so has resolved similar electrical issues. These will allow the movement to the posts - https://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart...lb/14972164535. I will move my leads along w/ switching out my A10. Better safe then sorry.

Don't know your setup but my boat came with one agm powering everything from a10 touch pad, all graphs, and cranking. That one agm couldn't keep up. I ended having to get a separate battery for graphs.

I think it's a 85 or there adouts. First battery was bad made a hissing noise when charging. Had it tested and showed it was bad. Dealer said they don't cover the battery and I should go to the battery manufacturer. They were great and replaced it with same. It just wasn't enough so I went with a lithium for sonars. Seemed my best option

I'm amazed they would put an 85ah in a boat these days.

Are the A 10's not as reliable as they used to be? I just caught a glimpse, but looks like the new lynx did not have the A10. My A10 has been flawless(all my issues has been at the terminal block). Just a curious question for BCB?

Just looked. It's 200 rc which converts to 83.333 ah. Yeah I don't buy a boat very often but figured they would know and sale me something to carry the load or at least let me know.

The replacement A10 failed on Friday - went dead for several hours. I may start carrying a portable aerator for this failure killed my fish on the last day of a three day event. Not good, and frustrating. I called BCB from the water and they have another pad heading my way. I moved my main engine leads as BCB suggested, but it didn't prevent the pad from failing so I am at a loss on what could be causing the pads to go bad. Any suggestions on what I should be checking?

Turn on nav lights or something and shake the A-10 harness really well under the dash as you watch the lights.

    xxstang90 - I've done that w/ no joy.

To investigate further, I pulled the cranking battery to get better access to the bus bar and wiring. I ended up finding the second from the left bottom screw on the bus bar loose. I am guessing that is the cause of the A10 failing for the likelihood of the replacement A10s being bad is small. I have a tournament tomorrow and should know for sure if tightening the screw fixed it. Fingers are crossed.

I am interested in this as well...having the same issue on my Caracal STS...except that it is always occurring after a run and when I shut the key off. I can go pop the breaker and reset it, everything comes back and works perfectly, until it shorts out again. Cannot find that gremlin......my bus bar is all solid, as are all connections....figure there is a wire somewhere grounding out....maybe a little exposed wire somewhere??

Everything worked as it should so I think the loose screw was the issue.
