Say what you will about Caymas but the fact is they're a quality boat at a competitive price. WRM never designed a single fiberglass boat they sell and they are not on the same level of Caymas in quality.

The ol “ they are shutting down and going out of business “ stuff been going around for over two years now. I remember a thread last year that said “ announcement coming by end of week” still waiting for that. As the reel turns soap opera in the fishing industry, lot of drama and rumors that usually aren’t true.

Where have you seen this? The CX21 with a 250 Mercury 4 stroke runs high 60s loaded and the CX20 with the same motor 70-72 at best.

No complaints with mine. Great riding boat that’s well built.

How good a boat is trolling motor down as well as rough water handling should be more important than speed but some have different priorities. I'm a trolling motor down guy these days and my boat runs what it runs.

Surprised he didn’t mention flashing a SHO, all he seems to talk about.

I liked the Caymas when I was shopping for a boat earlier this year. The issue I had is the local WRM dealer sells them and I wouldn’t buy a tricycle there. When you are new to the bass boat market you have to provide something different. Ikon sells premium, blazer sells speed, what does that caymas provide that I can’t get in another boat.

I love my CX20. Rides great, running a worked 24 tempest, boat will run 75 with two guys. I loved my tritons and went with a different brand last boat and wasn't happy with it. So glad I went with my Caymas I guess I just like Earl's boats

I see quite a few Caymas running around here. They seem to do fine. Like most bass boats.

It’s amazing how much knowledge and experience you have with every single boat & motor combination. I’m surprised they don’t pay you to post here

One came by me yesterday, first one I've been close to on the water. I was surprised at the depth of the hull. Almost like a walleye hull. It looked great.
Hang on. I'll help you in 77 minutes.

I must be doing ok. I got 71.3 in my cx20 last night with 3 grown men, a full livewell, 3/4 tank of gas, and rain soaked carpet.

I think the boat wrx bankruptcy or whatever it was really put a dent into the caymas market as they were a huge dealer for them. With overall market contraction, I am sure it is difficult to get a foot in the door at the dealer level when the dealers themselves aren't really looking to take on more inventory.

Kyle, I would be skeptical because the only current dealer I see in Wisconsin is Cedar Lake Sales and I know Kens used to carry them but I see they don't anymore. Just buy Ben's Triton and call it a day! HAHA

The best indication of future behavior is past behavior. Earl Bentz has started and later sold a number of boat companies. He is getting old so that was certainly part of the plan when he started Caymas. It could continue as a great company for a long time but it will not have the legacy of several other major brands.
