Changes made to my network, questions....

I added another Apex (that I'm waiting for). So that's two Apexes and one Solix 12 G3. I also added the new Ethernet switch. Question one. With my old setup, I had to slowly power on my three devices to give the old switch a bit of time to handle everything. Do I need to do that with the new switch? Second question. With Global turned on, will all three units power on at the same time? Third question. Can you designate which functions will change on all units with Global turned on? Thanks.

You didn't say if you were running the 4.xxx or 5.xxx software, but I think the answers are the same for both.

1) I have 5.xxx software on 3 Apex units and one Xplore, along with 2 of the PGL switches and I power all of them up at the same time. Doesn't seem to be an issue.

2) There is no "Global" setting on the 5.xxx software, so maybe you are running the 4.xxx software. In both cases, you physically have to press the power button on each unit to power it on. There is no network initiated power on.

3) On 4.xxx software, there are multiple Global settings so you can control what is replicated across the network and what is not. Humminbird did away with "Global" settings in 5.xxx... everything is replicated across the network.

Hummibird tech told me they changed the start up sequence requirements 2 or 3 updates ago. I start my apex 13, Solix 15 and xplore 12 all at once and have worked fine.

There were a few negatives to all settings being replicated globally. One was the fact that you could no longer have a top/bottom split with the one half being the left SI image and the other half being the right SI image. With the 4.xxx software, you had to disable one of the Global settings to do this. In the latest 5.250 software, you now have the ability to do this SI split again.
