summer vacation pre practice to lacrosse

Im qualified for the National Championship in October but Id like to make a trip this summer to do a little learning. Looking for a decent place to stay and hopefully bring the wife and kids. Will this time of year be fun for them or is the fishing a grind id hate to take them all the way up there and they cant catch something. Not looking for spots just how is the fishing in July.

July is an excellent time to be on the river. Early August is good too. However, I will say that those two summer months fish very different from the others. Be sure to check out all the different pools that portion of the river has to offer as well. Pools 7, 8, and 9 are all very different and present their own advantages over each other. Fun place to fish, enjoy the trip! I always stayed at a cheap hotel in La Crosse when I went, and I don't remember much being available for airbnbs. However, there is lodging available in Prairie Du Chein and Stoddard that would also be relatively close to fishing areas in the tournament waters.

Should be good based on a "normal" water level. Frogs and swim jigs will play for sure.

If you're bringing the family I'd suggest an Air BnB or VRBO. There's quite a few in Lacrosse. Stop at Island Outdoors if you need some baits, think they have a cabin too.

Yeah he has a house across the street that he rents out.

Like others have said it is going to fish way different in July than October, but can be fun. I just don't like to be on the main channel after 10-11am. Gets a lot of traffic if it's a nice day.

Thank yall for the info I know it will be different it’s just nice to have feel and lay of the land before a three day practice! It’s about 2000 miles from the Mississippi River spots I fish.
