Yamaha HPDI 200 vmax series 2 shifting issues please help !

As stated I have a 08 Yamaha Hpdi 200 series 2 motor that after the winter for some reason now won’t shift into reverse just gets a grinding noise. Replaced the hub on the prop which was fine and have checked the shift cable looks fine and tight. connection at shifter and at the motor appear fine as well. Another issue seems to be in forward gear it will idle fine but when any throttle is applied it seems to just blow out. Spline looks fine.
any thoughts are appreciated. Going to drop the lower unit here tomorrow and see what’s up inside there.

Likely different issue, but a few weeks ago something similar happened to me as I was approaching the dock. All of a sudden, no reverse... just the grinding like it was trying to and I hit the dock. I couldn't shift into forward at all. Turns out it was an id10t error. I failed to close the shifter and throttle cable clamp under the cowl and the cable came out. I put it back and locked the clamp. Back to normal. Good luck.

Cables all seem in place, drained the lower unit and it was full of water…… weird cause I had it in for service last august and it was supposed to be changed than and it had been out maybe 6 times since than and sat in the garage all winter. I had them change the impeller than as well.

Alot of times the outdrive or outboard is left trimmed up and without it being sealed it fills with water then will freeze and crack the lower unit in the exhaust housing. CJ

    Okay so update and some
more ideas are needed, the lower unit shaft had slipped from the housing on the bullet about 1/4” tapped the prop shaft back into place and put new seals on the prop shaft and filled with oil and no leaks to be found. Finally had a non rain day here today to go test things out and shifts fine now but I’m forward when getting on plane everything seems fine til about 3500 rpm’s and it blows out still. Any ideas of where to check n look here now would be appreciated as always !
