It has the torque master lower unit. Going out this weekend and will report back speeds with adjusting jackplate height. Also got my tackle in the boat so little more weight to keep the front end down and less walking hopefully

With tournament load (front main locker stuffed full) and full tank of gas, jack plate up 1” for prop to pad at 3.5”, was hitting 75 mph at 5900-6000 rpm and no chine walk. Still windy conditions so I think I can get more out of it still. The 300R acceleration and torque from 35-70 mph is crazy. Loving the boat so far

I'd say if you are looking to go faster, it will do it with a better matched prop and dial in the prop to pad/ set back. I'd run it again and reduce the prop to pad some more if it will keep water pressure up. When I was sorting mine out, I got recommendations on the PTP that just didn't work. 1.5 below is what mine likes for a top speed. The recommendations were 2.5/ 3.5 and it just wouldn't run well that deep. Each set up is going to vary even if they appear to be the same on face value.

I'm certain that 300 can turn more than a 25 Fury, my 2 stroke 250 turns a 26 in the summer and a 27 in the cooler months.

That sounds like an exciting upgrade — the 21xp with the 300R is a beast! I made a similar switch last year from a Z20 (also had a 250) and haven’t looked back. Whole different ride and feel. Totally agree with the Torquemaster call too, unless you’re planning to run in that upper speed bracket all the time.
Hopefully someone up in NorCal can get you out for a test run — it’s a big investment, and feeling it on the water makes all the difference. Good luck, you’re gonna love it.
