SHO 200 - VST filter replacement?

two of the last three times i've been out, i'll be running down the lake and motor just seems like it losses all fuel. it slows down but never shuts down. could this possibly be a VST filter issue or any other ideas? both times this happened the motor ran fine for the rest of the day. kinda acts like an old boat i used to have that would a fuel venting issue but being it goes back to working without doing anything i'm not sure.

Having same problem! Mine does it after the heat and humidity of the day gets up! Runs fine in the morning then starts vapor locking in the late morning! Taking mine in and having them change the VST filters and I think there is a valve(VSV) that can cause this problem!

let me know your results. seems like it doenst happen enough that if I took it in to get worked on, they would just be throwing parts at it. changing the filters would be only things right now. not familiar with the VSV valve, will do some research. do you know if there are any other vent lines that may need to checking besides the main tank vent?

    thanks

Not sure myself of all the different things it could be that’s happening. Neither do any of the mechanics that I’ve spoke with around here in central Florida! So I’m starting from under the cowling and will work my way back to the gas tanks. Parts are on order so I will post results when I can.

My 2016 250 SHO would sporadically bog down and eventually die completely. The fuel primer bulb would be soft. changing VST filters solved the problem.

Mine was doing something similar. Ended up being the fuel line from separator to engine; the lining was separating and creating a restriction that got worse the warmer it was or the longer you ran it.

there’s nothing to it, very simple procedure. Clean the fuel cooler while you have the vst tank off

For those who have done this, did you replace the intake runner o-ring gasket? Or did you find the original to be in good enough shape to reuse? That oring is quite pricey.

reuse the original unless there are kinks or tears. I’ve had my intake runners off at least a dozen times on the same gaskets with zero issues. Same for valve covers.

those seals and gaskets are where they get you. probably dont cost five dollars to make any of them. but we all know what BOAT means!
