    Smallmouth In the Creek…

Wandered out with a 6 wt and some streamers. Spent the better part of a day hip deep in a creek in WNY waving a stick for brown bass. And those guys were hungry! Over 20 fishies between 13-15” in a couple hours. Nothing big but it was almost non-stop. Every one I pulled in was followed by 2 or 3 more. They really put on an airshow in that fairly shallow water. Missed and lost a bunch also. I was using ‘FFS’. Fly Fishing Streamers. Very memorable day.

i have a small feeder creek running through my property. I have caught a small mouth and then a lg mouth on back to back cast. really varies year by year depending on the spring flooding though!

I’m blessed with an abundance of fishing memories…

Few of them are more fond than wading an Ozark stream with a fly rod.

In my book, smallmouth bass between 13" and 15" in a creek is great. As long as you can get a good hookset and the flies aren't bad, sounds excellent.

I love wading for bass either with a fly rod or a spinning setup. Sounds like a great time!
