    Dodge Eco diesel

I’m looking at a 2020 dodge eco diesel truck and wondered how many of you have one or had one and how did it pull your ranger. I have 2011 Z 520. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I have to agree with the above post. Those are just really bad engines. I think that should be a 2nd gen motor, in which they fixed the crankshaft problems, but I’d still pass.

I'd look for something with a 5.7. The Eco diesel doesn't have a good reputation. The new Hurricane 6 makes good power, but I haven't seen many real reviews on it.

If you want a good diesel buy a 2021 or under Cummins or wait for the 2026 2500 ram 6.4 hemi they are doing away with MDS / AFE / Start Stop on the upcoming new vehicles somewhere between 2026 and 2027

My concern is longevity, small engines making big power have to work harder than larger engines making the same power.

I had a 2020 Eco Diesel. Pulled my 521 and 522D just fine. Locked in 7th gear. Drove it for 60k then deleted and tuned it till 110k. No issues with mine. Traded it for a Ram 2500 with 6.7
Friend of mine has a 2020 and still going strong. The 3rd gen is the best to get. Delete and tune for best performance
