    Plano storage

I have a 2017 tracker 175 txw and was wondering what everyone is using in the front storage boxes to hold the boxes? I now have mine staked on top of each other and it's frustrating always having to move them around to find the right box. Any suggestions on file rackes or something homemade to hold upright will be appreciated .

I just got this box\holder from the Plano outlet store, it comes with three 3700 boxes and a couple of small ones, I plan on putting it in the large center deck storage compartment of my RT178. Also got a waterproof 3600 to test out.

Those waterproof ones work really good. I have a few of them now for a few years and they they still work fine.

On the regular Plano boxes I glue refrigerator lining along the edges to keep them waterproof.

I am using these cloth totes, hold 7 3700 boxes each and the best thing is being to lift the whole thing out quick and easy.

Thanks guys that's what I thought my options were but was not sure. Will probably get one of each and keep plastics in the tub.

I just throw my tackle bag in the locker as I like being able to remove everything to go fishing with someone else and it does a good job of keeping everything from sliding around. It holds 7 3700s on end. It fits in the 195. I do not know if the 175 is shallower or not.

Skeeter hit a homerun with this one, and i like the idea that you can buy 2 different sizes.

In my TV18 I have my boxes sitting upright. Each box I have labeled with a label maker so I know what is in each box at a glance. In my front storage I can put about 8 boxes across.

RT188 with two of the Bass Pro cloth totes I mentioned above. 7 3700 boxes on starboard side and 4 3731 boxes on the port side. Since the wells run back under the consoles, being able to lift them out easy is important so I can use the space under the consoles for storage and be able to get to it when needed. If you needed more storage boxes you could use 3600 size boxes and totes in front of these. 3700's will not work in the front of the wells though. Due to the slope of the floor, 3700's stick up to far and prevent closing the lid.

Cabelas makes them too, and they are a little different

There are also plastic storage boxes at Target that fit 3700 size boxes, the Sterilite 32 qt Basket/box. It has virtually the same footprint as the Bass Pro tote.

Makes it easy to clean out the locker especially when they get wet since they are not water proof. I use water tight flambeau boxes in them.

That is a neat looking setup skeeterbait . Think that will work for me fine. And I'm just getting back into fishing after a 7 year lay off, what type rod covers do you have to protect them in the box. I have older rods but still would like to protect them until I finally upgrade. Thanks

Those are Rod Socks brand. They have changed them since I bought mine. They now have a rubber throat on them. Haven't tried the new style. There are several brands out there and they all work about the same. Makes getting rods in and out without damage much easier.

I know this is an older thread, but just came across it looking for storage ideas for organizing my tackle/lure boxes. While searching other places, I came across these and thought I would post it for everyone still looking. They also have horizontal ones and other useful stuff. Hope this helps.

I use one of the wire formed style racks in my aluminum boat. Think Bass Pro sells one.

I’ve been using these plastic file racks that are available from office stores in all my boats for 25 years. I don’t even screw them down. Just set them on the floors of your compartments. Very inexpensive and work extremely well.
