2022 Z185 strong gas smell after fill up?

I’ve had this boat for about four months and it has been in the shop for one thing or another most of that time. I bought it with four hrs on it so it was basically new. So far the onboard charger is defective, the livewell valves don’t work and water leaks around every fitting on every pump. The bilge pump just randomly kicks on after fishing for a while. They have also had to replace the tach and the speedometer/trim gauge. When I got it it was full of gas and the smell was there but the boat had been sitting for about a year so I didn’t think too much about it. Today was the first time I filled it up. I just went down to my shop and the smell of gas nearly knocked me out as soon as I opened the door. Surely this isn’t normal. The boat is still under warranty but my local bass pro that just opened doesn’t have any experience with Ranger as they just became a Ranger dealer in the last month. I hate the thought of of them pulling the boat apart since they’ve never done it before. It could just be the fact that my nose was overwhelmed with the gas smell but the water that was dripping from the drain plug smelled kinda gassy. The smell went away as the tank level went down so I’m thinking maybe it’s leaking around the sending unit? Any ideas? Thanks guys!

Quick update. I couldn’t stand it so I went ahead and pulled the seats out. No leaks anywhere. The only line that is out of view is the one that goes all the way to the engine. It SHOULD be one solid line so there shouldn’t be a leak there. I’m really kinda baffled. I figured surely there was leak at the tank somewhere. Any other thoughts?

Found it. There is an actual hole in the tank where the filler neck attaches. A good sized hole. I can fit my pinky in it. They just stuck the hose on it at the factory. *♂️

As I’ve noted in the past, my 2022 Z519 is terrific. Not a single issue of any kind. ^ When you discover an issue, though, a good dealer is worth his weight in gold. Texas, sadly, seems to be lacking in that regard, but Oklahoma/Missouri/Arkansas have some great ones. Long way to drive, but some issues can’t be resolved over the phone or on the internet.

They just opened a bass pro about five minutes from my house and they have been pretty good about handling things. They just don’t much about Ranger. That hole is just hole. Nothing is supposed to go there. It’s right in the bend of tank where the filler hose connects. They just attached the hose with a couple clamps and sent it. Very obvious and should never have been installed. I’m dropping it off Wednesday and telling them to keep it as long as they have to but I don’t want it back till everything is fixed.
