I’ve had this boat for about four months and it has been in the shop for one thing or another most of that time. I bought it with four hrs on it so it was basically new. So far the onboard charger is defective, the livewell valves don’t work and water leaks around every fitting on every pump. The bilge pump just randomly kicks on after fishing for a while. They have also had to replace the tach and the speedometer/trim gauge. When I got it it was full of gas and the smell was there but the boat had been sitting for about a year so I didn’t think too much about it. Today was the first time I filled it up. I just went down to my shop and the smell of gas nearly knocked me out as soon as I opened the door. Surely this isn’t normal. The boat is still under warranty but my local bass pro that just opened doesn’t have any experience with Ranger as they just became a Ranger dealer in the last month. I hate the thought of of them pulling the boat apart since they’ve never done it before. It could just be the fact that my nose was overwhelmed with the gas smell but the water that was dripping from the drain plug smelled kinda gassy. The smell went away as the tank level went down so I’m thinking maybe it’s leaking around the sending unit? Any ideas? Thanks guys!
