I would do a deep dive into this, more than one angler has said that new agreement they signed has essentially made them an employee of BASS. Don't know all the details though.
I'll guarantee you BASS does not consider them employees, and would argue that position in court. Now whether the anglers have a better argument, we'd have to see the contracts to say.
I would disagree. They sign contracts like most employees and are paid by BASS. Do you consider them “self employed”? BASS has a lot more control then.

No problem, although I would go easy on any guarantees, with the new contract they signed before this season it is VERY different than any they have signed before. BASS has a say, and some control, over their content, podcast appearances, and other things. Definitely different territory.
Yes, they are self-employed. BASS as an organization does not want them to be employees. It opens up a whole can of worms for them from insurance to taxes. Someone who signs a contract is not necessarily an employee. That's the whole point of independent contracting. I can guarantee BASS gives them 1099s for winnings, not W-2s.
Like I said, the anglers might have a good argument that they are employees, but BASS would argue against that with everything at their disposal.

Probably Pasquatank Day 1 - that's the only recent time I recall Brock having a camera in the boat. Would be nice to find out what the fuss is all about.
The more I think about it, I can't imagine any angler making a specific derogatory comment against Davy or any of the crew on Live, so I wonder if it was something more generic. There was a comment made about anglers making long runs and not making it back, and Ronnie stepped in and had to say something like he doesn't hope they don't make it back or something to that effect... Not sure why that would be an issue, but who knows.
Davy always seemed like a good guy in the past (afaik), kind of in that Zona space. But with Zona leaving, and Tommy probably retiring soon as well, I wonder if he's getting into a "Davy vs Ronnie" fight to be the future alpha of BASS... Whatever it is, it's not a good look for Davy recently, along with Herron's comments as well regarding the "sign the new deal in 4 days or you're out" referring to the original no entry fee fiasco.

Must be something else, really. No way this was it. But I didn't see anything else in a quick scroll through the day for Brock. Unless it was something said in pre or post interview, or maybe in the 4 box - I didn't look at those. Like everything, it will probably come out eventually.
