    Dedicated Graph for FFS???

For the guys that are running Active target / FFS. Does everyone prefer using a dedicated graph for it? I have a HDS 12 Gen 3 on bow and recently bought a HDS 9 Live for Active Target and space is tight on the bow. I'm thinking about selling both and buying a 12" capable of Active Target. Should I stay with 2 or try it with one. Thanks

I currently don't have a choice because I have just one Garmin in my boat for my LVS32 while my other two fishfinders are Humminbird. The 1199 at the bow is split between map and 360 while the one at the console is usually split between map and side imaging.

Garmin Echomap 12 is there solely for the FFS up front.

Every boat setup is different (as is every budget), which is why some people have one large fishfinder up front while others have two or three smaller ones up front.

After having FFS with a 9 inch unit and now having FFS with a 12 inch unit they are not even close on what I am able to do with them. In my experience the 9 inch unit for FFS was not that helpful. I use my 2nd unit up front mostly for waypoints. If I was not using the 2nd unit for that I could easily get by with just the one 12 inch for FFS.

If on a budget, go with one 12. Look in the electronics forums and you should be able to buy a good used unit and possibly sell yours.
