Nope....not yet anyway. The last time they were insanely loud was in the summer of 2016 when we moved into our current house.
Looks like Brood XIV will be more in the southern part of Ohio...not so much in the N or NE, so maybe we won't hear them.

Don't know if we will get a bigger than normal hatch this year but buzz of the cicadas has always been the sound of late summer for as long as I can remember.
The 13 and 17 year cicadas emerge earlier than the annual cicadas, if you happen to be in an area with an emergence this year. And NY is not in one of those areas.
Last year was the worst year for my life in this part of GA, average density was 1.5M/acre. Haven't seen one this year; understand it will only be in the far north part of the state.
You should go to southern France. You can’t hear yourself think because of them.
Fished a cove on Chickamauga this morning and you could not hear they were so bad.

Really loud at Yatesville lake in eastern KY today.
Saw the first one today that landed on my house window. I think they are just beginning to show up.
