Water Proof Breaker for Separate 12V Battery for Active Target

Since I removed my oil reservoir, I was able to add a separate 12V Battery for my Active Target. I need to add a waterproof breaker for this battery and I found 20 amp to 200 amp breakers for boats. These I feel are for trolling motor battery setups, I'm reluctant to install such a large breaker for a graph. Any suggestions? I'm leaning towards the 20 amp.

Just about any in-line fuse holder should do the job, some might be more waterproof than others. I kinda like the ones that Lowrance includes in the box but don't know if it's rated for 20amps or not.

Assuming you have dedicated wiring from the battery to the graph, the purpose of a breaker at the battery is to protect this wire and take it offline if it somehow shorts to ground. The graph is protected by the 3 or 5 amp inline fuse in the graph power leads.
By code, your main power breaker should be within 7 inches of the battery post so I would use one that can be attached directly to the post. I would use the 20 amp.

What gage wire are you using for the main run to the graphs fuse?

I ran 10 Guage wire dedicated to Active Target. Thru a Rocker switch so I can switch it off when I pull trolling motor. I'm leaning towards the 20 amp mounted to same wall as Trolling motor 60 amp breaker. That way I can isolate when I pull boat out of the water.

I would use a 30-40amp breaker which is adequate for 10ga wire. The breaker’s utility is for protecting the run and can be used to cut the power to the circuit.

30 amp max but if you have a 20 it will work fine for a graph. Cj
