    Smart Craft guage

Friends, have a set of Mercury Smart Craft gauge's in my 2021 Puma Hybrid. The problem is the speedometer quit “of Sorts”? The speedometer that shows the M.P.H. Just stopped while the other functions work fine. Went through
all the menus to check settings, as well as craw under the dash and checked the connections and everything was very tight! Still the the speedometer arm just sits there, any ideas

In the front of the foot of your motor there is a small hole for a pitot tube to read speed. It gets trash in it and clogs it up. Stick a wire in the hole to clear it. It'll get clogged again and again

A very small drill bit worked delicately will work pretty good also.

Usually we connect them to the GPS output for operation on the receiver.

Sir, Thanks for your input, but I believe that recommendation is a good try for a rig with the older analog gauges! What I should have mentioned was that my graph at the dash shows MPH very clear and the other gauges read well!

Chuck, get someone to set the gauges to your GPS output, the graph is GPS and there’s a chance your SmartCraft is set to air pressure on the pitot tube.

Do you have a NMEA2000 network? I do not and have HB Helix units that can provide a NMEA0183 output. Not sure how yours is rigged but had a similar issue last weekend. Somehow my NMEA0183 input from my HB graph got turned off. Once I went into the SC gauge menu and turned it on, it worked perfectly.

Following! My speed and mpg readings all stopped working a year or so ago and I haven’t had any luck getting them back. I really like the mpg function for long runs we make down here.

It’s probably in the NMEA settings being set to accept 0186 in the output, and input on the SmartCraft gauges.

I checked the NMEA 0186 settings and made a change, hopefully that’s the trick, I’ll let you know, when it stops raining!!

Sir, if you have a H/B graph, go to your menu settings, “Setup” then go to towards the bottom of the menu!
Should show up clearly! Hope this helps!!
