    USPS ground advantage.

Anyone experiencing delays again? I shipped a rod on may 5th from Ca to Ma and it just shows that it left my post office but no other updates. Anyone have ground advantage take more than 6 days ?

USPS have been having issues for a while, they cut thousands of routes. We ship through them daily, scans and updates are a crapshoot even with higher postage options.

A lot of times they don't even do the intake scan after we ship, so it's in transit and it looks like we haven't shipped the item, then it gets marked delivered.

We have had packages take up to 2 weeks to arrive from South Florida to Orlando which is basically 3hrs away.

Yes. It's not uncommon for ground advantage shipments to take weeks to arrive. And in most cases, you get an outward bound scan and nothing else for quite a while. Then again, sometimes they're quicker than you'd anticipate.

Call your USPS location where you dropped it off and make sure the rod isn't buried somewhere in the back of their store...I had this happen a couple of times in CO a few years ago during the Holiday Season, and USPS (for weeks) kept stacking more shipments IN FRONT of my rod and prioritized whichever packages were "at the front" of the pile of packages in their shipping room. I try to NEVER ship USPS any longer, especially for rods, and even for ground mail boxed items, since I don't trust they will ever pay an insurance claim for items they lose or damage.

I hope the best for you.

For sure, the package said it was accepted and then departed my post office that evening so I don’t think it’s there for sure

FWIW, a very respected member/seller here just had a highly sought after OG MB limited edtn rod demolished by USPS while in transit to its new owner...it's not going to be pretty with the insurance claim process.

The USPS is a train wreck, and I avoid using them if at all possible. Having said that I sent a rod that I broke to Loomis from W. KY to Washington state and used USPS, the cheapest option. it was there in five days, I was blown away. USPS charged me $28, Fedex quoted $64, both had $100 insurance. My thoughts were it's already broke so why not give them a shot.

If this ends up bad I won’t be shipping rods at all any longer lol. I shipped it on the 5th and last scan was the 9th saying in transit to next facility…. Nothing since

You should never ship rods using Ground Advantage
    They should ship Priority
I was told this by a USPS regional manager.

    Carl,
I had heard the complete opposite . I was told that Priority Mail goes down the conveyer for faster service hence the rod tube gets stuck in the process and broken or jammed.. Ground Advantage gets hand moved through the process, just takes longer.

Once dropped off at PO Ground Advantage doesn't get scanned again till going out for delivery.

Several years beyond "just lately" IMO.

That is true… Unless you use the Do not convey or even better the Bright Fragile stickers they will provide you.
Once they see that sticker they won’t use the conveyor.

Have an NRX+ lost (or stolen…) that I sent out around New Years time. Submitted a missing mail claim and still haven’t heard back. At this point I figured it’s gone. Might make one last trip to the USPS as a final hoorah to see if they know anything about it. Would be awesome of it was just lying there. It said it arrived at some facility in Georgia. Hasn’t moved since. When I was in contact with USPS they said that they didnt see the update on their end saying it went to the sorting facility in Georgia. Interesting…

They do ship by ground. Yes it will take longer and you won't see any actual scans until it reaches a USPS facility and gets scanned again. The May 9th scan is an auto generated scan, not an actual scan. It doesn't go on one truck from Ca to Ma. it is transferred a couple of times across the country but does not get scanned because the transportation is private contractors. Where in Mass is it going?

Tubes do not go on conveyor belts. That's why they put "Non Machinable" labels on them. Whether ground or Priority, they all get scanned unless you have a lazy employee. In this day and age there are a lot of them no matter where they work.
