Erie is 1 1/2 to 2 feet low as well. Contrary to the belief of some, rain doesn’t impact water levels to any significant extent in the Great Lakes. At least not in the short term. Lack of snow melt up north is what causes Erie and St. Clair to be low. We’ve had some frog stranglers lately in northern Ohio, and Erie was just as low today as it was a month ago.
I've been up around Lake Michigan this week. Water level is a couple feet low here too. Surprised to find some big smallmouth roaming the shallows of Lake Michigan already. They had to work to get into this shallow area this year.
