Map shows boat going about 5 degrees crooked.

I have four HDS12Lives and a single Point1 gps antenna. I have calibrated the point1 a couple times now and I still cannot get any Live to display the boat heading correctly. I have it set to heading “up”. When I move at speed, the boat seems to always be heading 4-5 degrees starboard on the map. When I show heading extension, it is clearly pointing slightly “right” of “up” on the map. It doesn’t matter which display I use, same result. This leads me to believe it is a point 1 issue, but I need help resolving the issue from someone with more experience than I.

    help? What am I missing?

Is it straight when idling or motor off?

You are likely experiencing electromagnetic interference at your Point-1, probably from the outboard when running assuming it is mounted at the transom. Try unscrewing the Point-1 and relocating it temporarily with duct tape until you find a better location. If your Point-1 is on your bow, consider moving it close to your transom transducers.

Maybe Point-1 orientation off a bit?

Your P1 is influenced by magnetic interference. Relocate the P1, or whatever it is that causes the interference.

There are apps for smartphones that will read magnetic interference to know for sure.

It’s mounted on the right rear corner of the boat.

I’ll try to get some pictures tomorrow.

it is in the same spot as all the other Ranger 520’s that are factory rigged with Lowrance.

it stays 5-6 degrees to the right even when I am not moving.could it be as simple as unscrewing the puck and rotating it 5 degrees?

    Yes, that might fix it.

Next time on the water take a hand help compass and move it around the point 1 area and see if its stable or jumping around best to do it on the water as where it is the location of all the wires from the motor and batterys run. have the big motor running and anything else in the back. Their is an offset for bearing I believe you can adjust if you find out its not moving from Noise.
