it’s no wonder they went bankrupt. On the first go round that fuel delivery system is absolutely pathetic. Whoever engineer did didn’t have a degree. Pro marine out of Florida had a fuel pump system to replace the o.e.m. disaster. I had purchased a boat with dual 1996 model fast strikes. initially suffered the same dilemma as what you have. When I purchased the boat, both engines had failed due to fuel lean out. Replace fuel supply system or suffer the same consequence.Originally Posted by Bulletsmallmouth

run wot as long as you pump the fuel bulb.
Rebuild the vapor tank there is a float in there and it acts pretty much like a carb, if the float and needle are sticking that can cause an issue as fuel goes in to the tank first then goes to the fuel pump then into the VRO/OMS and out to the fuel bracket. Needle and seat repair kit is 0396521.

Can I hook a vacuum hand pump up to the vacuum line from the motor to the fuel pump and hand pump and see if engine will hold vacuum? It don’t seem to have much vacuum.. vacuum gauge needle bound a round..

Fuel pumps work on rapid vacuum pulses from the piston movements and the cylinder related to that position.
No vacuum at all
