I've always hated running - couldn't stand soccer practice other than scrimages. Like basscat21 I'll chase a ball until I puke - thus my racketball addiction.
I did notice a decline in strength (I'm 70) and now reluctantly drag mysef to the gym for weekly resistance training - has been a big help to rball game. Also do grip strength excercises in evening.
I too have admiration for the gym folks with a long road to physical fitness but are still there making the effort. Gotta start somewhere.
I'm grateful for the efforts I've put in - have friends that are limited now.
