    Inop Jackplate

I have a 2004 Ranger 520xv with a Mercury 225 Optimax. I have had great use out of the boat with some usual issues. I was on the lake the other day and went to set the jackplate for my holeshot. The jackplate didn't operate up or down. I don't know where to start with the diagnosis and can't find the compoents. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have read some thing about the low fluid level can cause an inoperative condition but can't find the reservoir. Thanks for your help.

Check fluid level first. Then check to see if there is power to the pump, then check the 2 relays. But it sounds more like you've lost power to the pump.

I would start at the switch... make sure you have a good connection there to your solenoids. Knowing where things are is key to sorting things out.

Is the connection from the up/down switch getting juice?
