so no pressure from engine to tank correct ??? = broke reed , low compression , leaking hose , restricted hose , start the engine with block check valve removed see if it has massive amount of air blowing from threaded hole in block

Re: How to BLEED the ENGINE MOUNTED OIL TANK when AIR IS PRESENT (SeanR)

Before you go that route.... let's reconnect everything PROPERLY "except for the pressure line where it connects to the block pressure check valve".

Locate a pressure tester (such as a bicycle pump), and install it into the pressure hose (clamp with a tie-wrap).

Pressurize the system to 6-9 psi with the pressure tester. Now open the cap on the engine mounted tank, and see if it bleeds the air out (no need to run the engine in this case).

IF IT DOES..... you likely have a bad pressure check valve, or perhaps a bad reed, or a compression problem.

Hey all, just wanted to close this thread out with what the issue ended up being. In the end, there was a crack in the remote oil tank cap. So, after doing all the cleaning on the oil tanks, putting a new filter in, and replacing a faulty check valve, the final issue ended up being the cap causing an air leak. I want to thank all of you for your help, so many issues were found and fixed due to the wealth of knowledge supplied by those who took the time to help. First trip after fixing it, I took my girlfriend out on the water for the first time and our five best ended up at 17lbs! Wouldn't have been possible without y'all.
