    Nitro Z7 project

    https://imgur.com/a/uaE6iIC

I moved the oil tank to the side, which is actually much better seeing how the deck fill kit tube goes strait down now. I added 2 LiTime 31 100ah batteries for the trolling motor. upgraded the starting battery to a 27M and used the old 24 tray for a electronics battery that I still need to order. I also added a main shutoff and a distrubution block to clean up the wiring a little. I added the Mercury smartcraft bluetooth module to my Optimax 150. Next I will be ordering the lithium battery for the electronics and building a "sea clear" like harness with 8 gauge power wire and blue sea marine fuse panels at the bow and console for my current and future electronics. So, far things are shaping up well, its taking some time but its worth it. Once its all done Ill take it back apart and deep clean the hull. Any suggestions are welcome if you see anything I should have done differently. I cant afford a new boat but my old boat will look like a new one by the time I am done lmao.

I would think about beefing up the metal cover that your batteries are sitting on if your going to leave the batteries on there. They are not very strong and i actually bent mine in rough water with it in the original configuration with the oil tank on it and a single group 31 battery on it.

That 150 hp is plenty fast on that hull and fine for fishing. Not everyone is obsessed with speed.

200 does much better for fishing, way more to it than just speed.

Actually, the trolling motor works best for me when fishing, regardless of the size outboard. But I'm old and like to just relax and fun fish.

Ok, so why do you have an outboard at all then?

If speed is so important, why don't you push everyone to run an Allison?

You really think its good advice to tell someone to rip out a perfectly good motor to get a new one for performance increases? On a hull that's over a decade old, that likely is only rated for 150 or a 175?
