    Canada tariff

We leave next week for our annual Rainy lake canada trip. Anyone cross the border recently and can tell me what to expect when we cross as we bring our own food? Thanks

From what I've heard you should have no trouble with a Nexus card or passport.

    Should not be a problem.
"The man of system is apt to be very wise in his own conceit; and is often so enamored with the supposed beauty of his own ideal plan of government that he cannot suffer the smallest deviation from any part of it…He seems to imagine that he can arrange the different members of a great society with as much ease as the hand arranges the different pieces upon a chessboard.” Adam Smith, The Theory of Moral Sentiments

Adding many square miles of frozen stuff to the Antarctic as well…

Should we anticipate a new tack from the Church of Climate soon?

We had quite the experience fishing the St Lawrence last week. We spent two days with Travis Manson fishing the Canadian side of the river and the run in we had with the Royal Mounted Police was not a pleasurable one to say the least. Check out Smallmouth Crush on YouTube and the videos describing the incident are from April 30 and May 1st.

That's not very good and I hate that it happened to you (or anyone else) - "man bun" was certainly out of line with his unnecessary and unprofessional comments after running the ID's and they all should have moved on.

But at the end of the day welcome to border water fishing - at any time you could run into game wardens, state police and/or border patrols and any one of those experiences can be somewhat less than fun. Thankfully 99% of my experiences have been routine - I get approached 2-3 times a year on the New York side when I'm over there when June 15 rolls around. I'm not sure what to expect this year with the heightened border tensions that are currently happening - that's what is truly unfortunate and unnecessary.

The main thing I got out of that was Travis Manson just put another target on himself (and his clients) for the 3-4 weeks a year where he makes a good buck from Canadian waters - the first target was for the numerous "look at me with a big smallie" posts on social media when the C&R season on the Canadian side first started 3-4 years ago. Something about don't shit in the bed you sleep in comes to mind.....

Good on him for making a video. He didn't do anything wrong and was harassed. Being afraid of retaliation for posting what happened is pointless. Manbun and his fun bunch are going harass him again if they see him regardless of whether he posted that video.

Wish you had video of the interaction.

As for crossing it sounds more like it used to be. For a while they were taxing food brought into Canada.

Amercians are not popular currently with Canadians. They would love it if we didn’t cross the border. Thanks to you know who smh

100% untrue. Any Canadians who feel that way are a very small minority.

I agree, I'm in Ontario and haven't met a single Canadian who has any animosity towards Americans because of what's going on. I also have a Canadian friend who just got home from a few weeks in Florida and he said he was treated very well, just like every other time he's been south.

If you fellas want to come up here your more than welcome and if anyone hassles you, believe me they are in the minority and it'll be good to see you guys.

I was out in my boat Tuesday and run into 4 Canadians that were here on vacation. They were intrigued by my power poles and the electronics and asked if i ever see any alligators. I said sure and I know where 2 are right now. I put the 2 ladies in the boat and rode out to where the alligators were then I came back and took the 2 males out. They seen them and took pics. We had lunch afterward. Very enjoyable experience. By the way they had never had boiled crawfish and they loved them.

It'll likely be no different than any other time you've made this trip. Tell Dale that "Doug from Rayburn" sends his best.....
