    trolling motor spare prop storage

Coulda swore someone on here made made a custom spare trolling motor prop holder under their front deck lid. But i cannot find the post anywhere. Anyone else do this? It was basically a nut/bolt drilled through the support under a deck lid. Ill link a similar product I found that is way over priced. I know i can build this myself for $6 at lowes.

I just leave it on the cardboard and keep it in one of the boat storage compartments.
    Haven’t had any issues yet.

Same, although I do keep in one of those Bass Mafia heavy clear zipper bags.

I actually bought one of those MDX spare prop mounts that TW sells, but never really felt like drilling into a rod locker lid... seems like the screws would just come up through the carpet lol.

easy to do, drilled and tapped a hole on the support beam on right side rod locker. mount prop and its out of the way and secured until needed. I also had some rubber matting that I installed between the prop and the support beam so it seats down better and not have hard surface to surface contact. PM me if you need a picture

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but it has worked great for years. It’s a piece of laminate flooring (free sample from Lowe’s). Epoxied a countersunk carriage bolt so the back is flush. I used a piece of seadeck under the prop so it adds some resistance and keeps the nut tight. I used one of those TH marine prop nuts but you could just use a regular nylock nut to accomplish the same thing.
Total cost is about a dollar for the stainless bolt if you don’t wanna use the TH prop nut. Not sure if the seadeck is necessary but I have a lot of it laying around so I put some on there.

i probably had better pictures in my original post if you can look it up by searching my old posts. It was a few years ago.

I’ve carried a spare trolling motor prop for 38 years, running… never needed to use one though. They are so small and thin, I agree, simply placed in a ziplock (to hold spare nut & pin) and in any compartment of your choice. They just don’t get in the way, but you’ll probably never need one either.

I keep my Ghost props in their boxes till I need one. The boxes are small and fit on the shelf inside the rear side storage boxes on my Ranger. I see no need to bolt them to anything. Now my spare Fury? It has to get bolted into its holder between the batteries, in front of the charger.
