    Anyone fished Champlain recently?

Headed up on the 17th for a week. Curious as to current water temps and conditions.

I'd appreciate any info you're willing to share from your trip. I am headed to North Hero on 5/24.

Fishing was slow for our group on Champlain. We caught largemouth in the bays and pike but only caught a few smallies. We usually hammer the smallmouth. One of the guys took a pike home and it was still full of eggs! This is the first time this has happened in almost 20 years of fishing Champlain the week of Memorial Day. The weather has the fish messed up in my opinion.

My buddy was just up at North Hero and said water temps were around 61. Caught some decent fish, but the weather was lousy so he couldn't tell if they were spawning or not.

Sorry for late response to how we did. Same situation as above. It was overcast entire week and at least some rain every day. The bite was slow and much harder to find a group of fish. I actually prefer fishing the NY side S we catch bigger fish with less pressure. Found fish willing to bite in Mallets Bay but the Mother Nature did not want me to be there….ran there twice and both time the waves were brutal coming back. One of the days I burned 15% of my full gas tank getting to Mallets fishing along the way. I burned 85% going straight back getting to the ramp on 0% fuel
