    Removable console help.

My rod tips are constantly getting stuck in the space between console and gunnel. Becoming very frustrating. Any ideas?

I don’t have a Basscat but my boat had a similar problem. There was a catwalk beside the driver console and there was a small gap. I lost two rod tips cause of it. I just found some screws and tightened them all up and the gap closed. Dont know if this will help but I hope it does.

We haven’t seen an issue hanging rods in the gap with the foam pad between console and deck.

Any chance we could get an image of this with the rods in that area.

I had that issue. I took some door weather strip (the kind that has an air pocket) and wedged it in the crack. Rod tips don't get stuck anymore.
It's the one thing I have always wished BC would do is put an area in the console for rod tips to go

Yeah for a much "angler friendly" designed boat that one is a disappointment.

Thank you, the pad was gone to vs. a pebble grain vinyl to give rod blanks more room. First time we’ve seen the rod guide itself get stuck. We have a few here that fish dual consoles and we haven’t seen that prior.

Is taking the console out an option? Really opens up the boat room wise. I only got the second console for re-sale for someone who might want it. I’ll never put it back in while I own the boat.

Not at this time but we are presenting it to others for the resolution they want. Since it’s fresh to us, we don’t know yet.

Most want the second console for youth and spouses.

I actually like it, I don't need more room. Also taking trips to Champlain and St. Lawrence. My son is my co-angler and appreciated the added protection. 70mph without a console to help is brutal.

Agree not a great look but I don't notice it anymore. And looks better than a broke rod tip
