    Shifter really tight

Hello all. Hopefully someone can help me out here. I just the 300 hour service on my pro xs 115. Everything went well until I went and put the lower unit back in. After about 10 tries I finally thought I got that damn shifter rod right. I went from only forward to nothing more than once. I got it to work with all gears on the muffs but it is super tight and stiff. I can barely get it into reverse. If I loosen the lower unit nuts it will shift a little easier. Is the shifter rod still not seated right or do the cables need adjustment for some reason. They have never been this tight even brand new. I have motor on a tracker pro team 195tx if it matters. I also found this knocking around in the motor compartment. It's next to a 3/4 wrench for scale, nothing is leaking that I can see. The only place I see that it fits would be on top of the fly when there are three threaded holes where this fit but none of them are occupied. Don't know if this is related or if it's been in there for awhile.

    Next forum up as well.

Has it ever done this when servicing lower unit before? If not, something has changed. Can't help with the plug, but since there's an o-ring on it I'd expect it to be for a fluid orifice. It does have a part number so that might help one of the pros here to ID what and where it came from.

It's the first time its ever been removed for the service, so something has been moved and needs adjustment or I'm still not lined up.

I don’t know about the shifter but the plug is probably from someone installing an optional gauge sensor like a digital water pressure gauge.
