6’11” P5 Destroyer JB Rod vs. GLX JBR

Both great rods, interested in those with experience fishing either or both…

Looking for general input, but would be specifically interested in:

    • Ability impart the correct jerkbait action
    • Ability to keep fish pinned
    • Ability to throw both 110 version as well as smaller sizes (110 jr, 1/3 oz Zumverno 95, etc.)

Or other distinguishing factors - as well as other rod makes/models that compare favorably.

    Appreciate any/all input. Thx

I have never fished the GLX . I own a Megabass p5 Destroyer 110 Special . In my opinion the Megabass 110 Special is awesome . It has its own name , 110 Special . It is the top of the line of jerkbait rods . I have fished a lot of other rods , just not a GLX . A friend of mine has a Shimano rod that is very good . But it is really not close . It may come down to just personal preference . So far for me , the P5 Destroyer 110 Special is in class of its own . And yes , it does all you listed and does it really well . Very crisp , you get the best action on your baits . Definitely keeps the fish pinned . Works great on 110 and 110 jr . You really owe it to yourself to try one .

Owner of a Destroyer P5 One Ten Stick here,
Perfect at imparting action, the tip has some give but it’s stiffer than I assumed it was
Doesn’t feel like you’re holding anything. Insanely light and well balanced
Ive thrown 110’s, 110 +1, jr’s and +1 jr’s on it. It can cast any one of those with no issues
My only gripe is I wish it was just a tad more parabolic, I’ve had a couple of smallies pull off, still getting used to the rod.
Otherwise I love the rod, I’m sure once I get some more time with it I’ll adjust how I fight fish and might end up backing my drag off a little bit too. I have it paired with a Tatula Elite with 10lb Daiwa Samurai FC
