Best product to keep spiders out of a boat on a lift or in a boat house?

I know it's been covered here before but what product or old school remedies are you using to keep spiders out of your boat. I tried StarBrite and it seems to work ok but I still get them.

I've found it helpful to keep a couple of small mice in the boat for this reason. Obviously, the mice can bring on other problems down line which are easily remedied by introducing a black rat snake once the spider problem is under control. Nature at work without any chemicals.

Had the same thing going on. Spray peppermint oil up under the canopy about once a month works great.

This works in the slips at the marina.

At work, we used to use a product called "Spider Ban", worked great but don't know if its still avaiable or allowed in your area, its an aerosol in a can.

As long as they aren't black widows or brown recluse I don't mind that much. My brother hates spiders and will go through the boat with a wiskbroom to get them out.

Had big spider problem in industrial facility because lights were on all the time. Installed motion detectors so lights were only on when workers were present and the spider population plummeted. Lights attract insects. No lights, no insects, no food, no spiders. Don't know how your boat is stored or dock situation, but turning the lights off is a big deterrent.

I never backlash, but each time I go fishing I practice fixing them, just in case I ever do really backlash.

If I don't use the boat (in a slip) in three days there are webs on both sides of the engine to the transom. All that work destroyed when I pull out. It doesn't seem like that's a sustainable energy balance but they seem to stay.

Old farmers trick was to put an Osage orange (aka: monkey balls) in a paper bag in corners of rooms. My wife swears by it.! She gets them and uses them in the basement rooms.

Any of your home insecticides from a big box store that contain permethrin, bifenthrin or any other “thrin” insecticide will provide long lasting control of spiders. Just make sure none of it gets sprayed into the water. Fish are extremely sensitive to this class of insecticides!

Place a few mesh bags of Moth Balls around the boat. They don't like the smell !!

Google Web Away or web-B-Gone, they work and are non toxic and designed to be used around docks and boat houses. they are essentially essential oils. Also try to devise a way to deflect direct white light away from the boat at night.
