Looking at 2017 z19 help with what to look for?

Not my first boat so obviously i know what to look for as far as the normal stuff

i am looking for stuff that maybe weak points in the nitros
as i have never owned a nitro.

    its 2017 z19 merc 200 pro xs 2 stroke
    80 hours

owner showed me the kit he put on the trailer axles
dexter ez flex suspension kit is what he said he put on the trailer said it was
a common swap out on the nitros?

Any areas i may need to focus on a bit more would be appreciated!
    thanks

I would be more focused on the motor than the boat. As long as everything is functioning in the boat, it's probably pretty solid assuming there is no visible damage anywhere. Only has 80 hours in 8 years. That's pretty low run time and a lot of sitting. Hopefully it was stored well. The ez-flex is a great upgrade for any trailer.

I have the same boat. Very solid boat, no issues at all with mine. I did the same with the noisy ass trailer and it was the best thing in the world. I would go over the engine real well and ensure the normal maintenance is done due to it sitting, mine had 120hr on it when I bought it and that was in 2021.

yeah i looked at it today, boat looks brand new!! Super clean, and of course he went to launch it and the key would turn enough for the engine one beep to sound then it wouldn’t let it turn any further something was messed up inside the key tumbler itself, so i told him as long as it runs ill take it, so he went and got a new key setup tonight from BPS and he said its working fine, so we are trying again tomorrow. Cant wait!! I was so disappointed when they key locked up because boat is like brand new and i was like heck yeah as long as it runs good!! Im all over this!!

See if it has vessel view or something similar and that can help your confidence as far as maintenance on the boat. Since it sat for 8 years, plan to change the oil and lower gearcase oil, fuel filter etc... check the fuel and see if its clear, might want to drain and refuel.

no it has not sat for 8 years, so the original owner sold it 1 year after buying new, to the guy i bought it from
it had 5 hours on it when he got it, it had 92 hrs when he showed me the mecury bluetooth on it yesterday.
he took really good care of the boat, he said that he made sure to put it in the water every couple weeks and take it for a ride
i ran the boat yesterday, i did not see any issues so

    i bought it for 26k
power poles, lithiums, factory 18” wheels,12” carbon on console and 9” carbon on bow with ultrex TM

Wow, that's a great deal - congrats! I have the same boat, but a 2018 Pro model, completely stock and bought it in Aug of 2022 with 88 hours for $36k. Original owner ordered it brand new and he paid for an aftermarket service contract on the Mercury in 2018, so it had some warranty when I bought it. Only downside is it's a 2-stroke, but the boat has been great. Let's see some pics of the new boat!

Sounds like you got a great boat / deal. Just keep in mind since you are the 3rd owner, the hull warranty does not apply to you. I'm not saying you'll have problems as the Z19 is a real solid boat, just want you to be aware. Have fun with the new boat!
