    Way point issue

Something strange is going on with waypoint sharing between my two units. I have two HDS 9 Carbon units connected with Ethernet cable. When I punch in a way point at my front unit. It doesn't show up on my console unit. However if I go back to the console unit, and punch in a way point at the same location. Then two waypoint icons show up. The one I punched in up front and the one I put in at the console unit. Any ideas how to solve that issue?

Can you share a map card between both units? Un plug ea ethernet and plug back in Test with waypoint or mapcard, If Not then your cable is most likely bad, Get another cable run accross the deck to test before installing in the boat.

I don't think it's the cable because the icon from the front unit shows up on the console unit once I enter in another way point on the console.

Disconnect the Ethernet and turn off the bow unit. Make 5 waypoints at the console unit named Test1-5. Turn off the unit. Reconnect the Ethernet then turn on both units. Do Test1-5 show up on the bow unit? If so, your cable is fine and there may be a menu item you have hit by mistake though I don’t know what it would be. Waypoint sync is completely automatic and there should be no menu commands.

SEND AND RECEIVE must be turned ON on all units on the network.

what Icon are you talking about and did you try the map that is a lot more data and if that does not show up it is your cable or an ethernet port.

That option is for sharing waypoints with NMEA. Ethernet will synch waypoints automatically.

It's neither the cable or the internet port because the waypoint I entered at the bow, shows up on the console once I enter a waypoint at the same location on the console. Meaning I then have two waypoint icons at that location.

I would test with a new ethernetcable first. They lead to all kinds of weird things when they are about to break.
