    Performance Vent System (PVS) question

Good evening guys, I looked through the forums and didn't see this. I recently bought a 2024 Nitro Z-19 with a Mercury Pro XS 200. Looking at the prop I notices that there are no inserts in the hole on the prop for the PVS system, the dealer gave me some in a bag but never addressed it. I read somewhere else that the PVS system was designed for two stroke motors and not necessary for the four stroke motors, one article even said most people just plug the holes.
Can one of the techs on here or someone with knowledge give me some advise, should I put one of the sets of plugs in, if so, which one? Thanks.

Run it and see how the prop performs. These engines are made for hundreds of different applications. No way to tell how much, if any, prop venting is appropriate. My latest bass boat came with no plugs [all holes open] on the Fury prop. I ran it and could not ask for better performance. “If it ain’t broke….”

it really depends on what Prop you’re running, on mine. The fury does not need any plugs, the Tempest needed half plugs or mine would not plane, just run it without them and go from there

Thanks for the input. The prop is a 23P Fury and I just finished the first two hour break in so I will pay close attention going forward now that I can run it a little closer to normal operation. Very helpful information.
