    Split lower cowl removal

I have a 1996 115 mercury with what I think is a bad warning module. I'm trying to remove the lower split cowl for better access. The service manual says to remove two aft internal screws and two front screws at the front latch plate. I've done that but it feels like something else in the front is holding it together. The rear is loose. Any ideas?
